Life According to Lindsey
SF Ladies Night

Now, don’t go thinkin all these crazy things about a girl’s trip to SF.  We headed to the city for an apartment-warming party for a friend of Ellen’s. Since last weekend was Ellen’s last here in NorCal, Alice and I thought that we should tag along and make a real trip out of it!

After an endless wait in a Starbucks drive-thru and a quick jaunt across the bridge, we found the sun and spent the day soaking it up in the city.

We hit up Fog Harbor on Pier 39 for some snacks and wine (both were delish and we decided a very grown-up way to spend our afternoon)!

We also hit up Kara’s Cupcakes for some treats for later because these are the best cupcakes!

The rest of the afternoon and evening were for standing in as helper-hostesses since our host for the weekend was a single guy!  The housewarming party was a lot of fun…meeting new people and enjoying the rooftop deck!

Fortunately (or unfortunately, I’m not sure yet) the above picture was the only one taken with my camera, and I am not too sure if I want to see all the rest!

Our trip ended Sunday with some lunch (which was supposed to be brunch but by time we got a table and ordered, it was definitely lunch time!) after a very strenuous walk up Russian Hill!

It was a great weekend spent with my fav ladies!

San Francisco Day Trip

Matt and I headed to SF yesterday.  The main purpose for the visit was to get my wedding ring cleaned and checked, but since the jeweler is only located in the city, we decided to make a day out of it!

After we finished at Derco Fine Jewelers (which we love, one reason, besides them being super nice and helpful, being they check/clean my ring for free and any other jewelry we are wearing, making it shine like new) we headed down to the Pier 39 area to have lunch on the water.

We chose to eat at the Fog Harbor Fish House for lunch.  The above was our view from our table.  It was an amazingly clear day and we could see Alcatraz and Sausalito.  Our lunch was just as fabulous as the view…Blue Cheese Garlic Bread to start, followed by Fish and Chips for me and a Salmon BLT for Matt. It is a beautiful restaurant and I would recommend it if you are heading to the city and wanting some fresh fish!

Our next stop was for the most important thing we would do on our trip…CUPCAKES!

Kara’s Cupcakes to be exact!  I consider myself to be a cupcake connoisseur and out of all the cupcakes that I have sampled, Kara’s are the best!  Sooooo, since they are the best, I had to stock up…

Passion Fruit, Strawberry, Lemon, Vanilla, Banana, along with a few others, and Matt picked all 3 of the chocolate ones!

From Kara’s in Ghirardelli Square, we did a little shopping/returning/browsing in Union Square.  I love Union Square…maybe I am a tad partial since that is where Matt proposed!

Our last and final shop was the SF Giants versus the Florida Marlins game.

AT&T Park is a beautiful place to watch a ballgame, the fog never rolled in, allowing a great view of the Bay Bridge, and the Giants won, making it an overall perfect game to watch!

Aside from all the fun Matt and I had yesterday, there were three things that happened at the very end of the night that made it even more memorable:

  1. Seeing 2 Giants fans get into a fist fight as we were leaving the stadium…seriously?!? you’re team just won! There should be no reason to fight!
  2. A homeless man with a sign that read: “A ninja kidnapped my family.  Need $ for karate lessons.”
  3. A mobile strip club.  No joking…this was real!  An enclosed trailer that held a full size stripper pole and four scantily-clad ladies dancing, fully equipped with disco lights and music.  This traffic and pedestrian stopping vehicle was driving down The Embarcadero!  I wonder how many times it has been rear ended??

Only in San Francisco!

Beautiful day in San Francisco today! The hubs and are are spending the day in the city!
