Babies, babies, and more babies!
It seems like anytime you want something, the universe takes every opportunity to put the thing you want in your path all the time!   The best example of this would be when you are looking for or have just bought a new car.  Everywhere you go, that car is there…in the parking lots, in front of you on the road, everywhere! I feel like this has been happening to me lately, just not with a...

It is Fall!!
Which means Halloween is just around the corner!  Tonight Matt and I are headed to Sacramento to do a little Halloween decoration shopping and some costume-inspiration browsing for this…   I didn’t settle on last year’s costume until the day before Halloween, so hopefully this year’s head start will help! An email I received: The Light Turned Yellow
The light turned yellow, just in front of him. He did the right thing, stopping at the crosswalk, even though he could have beaten the red light by accelerating through the intersection. The tailgating woman was furious and honked her horn, screaming in frustration, as she missed her chance to get through the intersection, dropping her cell phone and makeup. As she was still in mid-rant, she heard...

Class Is In Session
Well, I have been back at work for a few weeks and this has been the biggest reason as to why I have been negligent to tumblr…I am really trying/focusing on being a better teacher this year!  It seems kinda stupid to say (write) out loud, but I really feel like I could be better at my job and am really going to try to do what I can to get there this year! Anyways, I was grading papers today...

Weekend Camping Trip
Matt I headed out of town this weekend and ventured out into the middle of nowhere (literally…they give latitude/longitude coordinates instead of a real address to get to the campsite) for a little camping with some friends! Our campsite was right on the bank of the Yuba River, which made for a very beautiful view and soundtrack for the weekend!   Friends, campfires, not showering,...

Have you ever said something that you shouldn't...
I have.  Last night to be specific.  And I didn’t realize that I said something I shouldn’t have until I was sharing my evening with the hubs and he gave me a shocked “you-really-said-that” and “I-can’t-believe-you-did-that” face. I was having a glass of wine with two of my aunts (I guess aunt-in-laws would be their specific titles) while we were planning...

So What??
I have not been doing any posting lately and the main reason for this is because I haven’t really felt like anything I have to say or show is relevant.  It doesn’t feel like there is any reason to post it.  It’s not cool, adventurous, fashionable, exciting.  It doesn’t have anything to do with babies, weddings, or pregnancy.  I haven’t had the motivation of going...

We're back!
Well, we have been back for a little over a week from our trip to Europe.  We had an absolutely amazing time, but it has been nice to be home! This past week has been full of trying to get through the enormous pile of laundry accumulated from almost 3 weeks away from home without a washer or dryer, celebrating 4th of July, catching up and sharing all of our 1,400 pictures with our family, Matt...

Too Much and Not Enough
This has been THE craziest week ever!!  I just wanted to take a second to express my excitement at what is going on… My last day with my kids was today!!  Yeah!   We have resurrected “Field Day” at school tomorrow, which myself and my 2 fellow Student Council moderators are responsible for (the planning and coordinating has been an incredible load to take on, especially during...

– One of my 5th graders (It warms my heart that he has FINALLY figured out what I have been trying to tell them all year, that the answers are in the book…all you have to do is look for them!! And with 4 school days left in the year, hopefully it will serve him well in 6th grade!)

Parents
I had a student’s mom come into my classroom and start looking for her son’s desk.  I helped her find it and she told me that she was looking for a book and one of his papers for him that he had reportedly misplaced.  Normally this would have shocked me, but she is a mom  that has come into the classroom on multiple occasions this year to clean out her son’s desk for him. It is...

The Last Month-ish
I feel like I have been rather absent the past few weeks on both the writing and the reading front on tumblr.  Between all of the stuff that has been going on, including the last month of school push, I haven’t had the time or the energy to keep up!  Well I finally had the chance to catch up  on the reading side, and here are the last few weeks in pictures (and some words)… After...

No Work, All Play!
I am not working today!! Today I took my very first ever personal day off work. And I’m not gonna lie, I feel a tad bit guilty taking a day off! But the feeling of being free and relaxing is much stronger!! I am in Aptos (a small town in the Monterey Bay, near Santa Cruz) with my mom, dad, sister, 2 grandmas, and hubs celebrating Mother’s Day! Here’s to the sunshine, the...

1.  I cannot stand it when people misspell my name.  I spell my first name LindsEy.  I get LindsAy all the time.  It really doesn’t bother me when they do it at Starbucks or any time when it is virtually a stranger who writes it (I actually just get really excited when they get it right without me having to spell it).  What does enrage me is when it is already written on an email (or...

Spring Break So Far
Easter weekend came and went, which means that I am officially on Spring Break! Monday was a busy day trying to get all of my errands ran before I left on Tuesday for… LONG BEACH to visit this lady!!   I have never been to Long Beach and thought that this was a perfect time to do it!  The two of us have a bridal shower to attend this coming weekend for Miss Alice (since we both have the...

soak it in: Signs you're a student teacher →
in-backyards: You no longer have interesting stories to share about yourself at the dinner table, instead you just want to talk about the funny things your kids said throughout the day. This is completely me…even though I am a teacher not a student teacher, but it’s pretty much all the same!

Question...
As I was sitting with my fifth grade in church on Friday, I observed one of the boys slouch down in the pew and adjust “himself” right out in the open while sitting in between two girls. This made me wonder, is the adjusting something that boys do innately or is it an observable occurrence (coming from watching dad, coach, pro athletes, older brothers, etc.)?

Crisis Confidential
I have some to realize, over the past few years of my life, that I handle myself well under pressure, in times of crisis, or emergency situations.  I consider this to be one of my strengths, but I also find this a tad ironic because I am a pretty very emotional person.   This strength of mine came into play on Tuesday night during volleyball practice.  While running a few laps at practice, one of...

Wednesday Confession
When I was in junior high, the boys in my class used to call me “Bob.” The reason for this was because when I walked or ran, my ponytail bobbed up and down or from side to side. I was none to thrilled about the boys calling my a boy’s name (especially when it was the cute boys and it was not said in an affectionate sort of way). I thought of this today as I was walking the...

Penny Wars
For a week last month our student council sponsored the activity of “Penny Wars” as our monthly service project.  It was such a fun and successful activity that I thought I would share it! So the object is for your class to get the most points in whatever time period you have decides for the war to last.  Every penny is worth a point.  The “war” part comes in when you...

Wine and Family Time
On Saturday we celebrated my mother-in-law’s birthday with a trip to Sausalito.  For anyone who is thinking, “Where in the world is Sausalito??” it is a beautiful, small, charming town directly across the bay from San Francisco.  One of the reasons that I love going here is because you get the view of SF from the outside, the feel of being right on the water, but without all of...

Wednesday Confession
The only things I have been wanting to do lately, more specifically when I get home from work, are walk the dog, eat, watch TV, and sleep. I have been feeling like I have little to no motivation. I don’t want to do any work (even though I should), and I haven’t even had enough drive to power up my computer and look at anything…tumblr, personal email, new spring...
